Getting Here By Air and By Sea
Getting to Malekula, Ambrym, and Paama is easy with options ranging from regular flights to the province with Air Vanuatu and Bel Airways, to surprisingly economical flight options with other local airlines such as Ratua Airlines and Air Taxi. For more information please contact or email these airlines directly as not all schedules are published online and they are subject to change. Alternatively if flying is not your thing you can catch one of the regular ferry and freight services. Vanuatu Ferry does a weekly service from Port Vila to Santo visiting Malekula and sometimes other ports in between. The Big Sista Ferry also conducts a regular service. From Port Vila to Malekula can take in excess of 12 hours but these are inexpensive options and the ferry is well appointed for comfort. The sail from Malekula to Santo or vice versa is only four hours and is very scenic past the small northern provincial islands. Again - for more information please contact these providers directly.
