Pialo Big Nambas Kastom Experience at Tenmaru

This full day tour takes you to Tenmaru in the heart of Big Nambas territory, about two hours by road from Norsup or Lakatoro, or one hour from Vao.  These Big Nambas people live a slightly more modern lifestyle than their ancestors, but still preserve their traditions and customs.  Hear the cannibal stories of the recent past, learn about the magic stones, and experience custom dances, sand drawing, handcraft making, and “storian” (swap stories) with an old Big Nambas woman at her village.  Visit the Pialo Spirit Cave, find out the secret of the cave and checkout the mysterious hand paintings and the bats.  The Big Nambas custom dress is quite different to that of the Small Nambas community,especially for the women.
